Vinyl chloride homopolymer and vinyl chloride copolymer are called vinyl chloride resin. Its material is a kind of non crystalline material. Stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, colorants, impact agents and other additives are often added to PVC materials in practical use.

It has the characteristics of non flammability, high strength, weather resistance and excellent geometric stability. PVC has strong resistance to oxidant, reducing agent and strong acid. However, it can be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid, and is not suitable for contacting with aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
